Welcome to Rick Woodson Golf
This site is built to help you improve your overall golf game. I have been a golf professional for 25 years and was a Tour professional for many years.
As a PGA member since 2001, I have worked with some of the games best instructors such as Andy Plummer, Mike Bender, David Leadbetter Golf Academy, Phil Ritson, and Mac O’Grady.
The author of “Art of Compression”, I teach my students starting at the impact zone and work back from there. You must understand where you must be at impact if you are ever going to achieve correct impact positions.

Control Your Weight
Weight should remain centered during the backswing . This makes it much easier to move weight towards the target when beginning your downswing.

Be Consistent
Wrist angle hinge should remain during impact zone. Many golfers flip the club head at the golf ball which causes hands to be behind clubhead upon impact. This will not create necessary impact alignments to produce consistent shot making.

Support Your Arms
Arm swing and body rotation should blend together throughout the golf swing. Golfers have a tendency to let their arms out race the body turn while swinging. When this happens it will require a tremendous amount of timing just to strike the ball not to mention a reduction in power. The body should support the arms throughout the entire swing producing resulting in effortless power.

Wind It Up
Beginning the forward swing from the ground up. In order for this to occur, you must first get your body wound up during the backswing. You cannot unwind in the proper sequence if you never get wound up from the beginning. Winding up on the backswing does not mean you need to shift weight.
